The UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) is a UNESCO-Launched project, which has been initiated to promote creativity as a factor in urban development among its member cities in 2004. It aims to encourage cities to invest and cooperate in placing creativity in different aspects of urban management including sustainable development, cultural dynamism, and social inclusion. Literature, Music, Design, Media Arts, Gastronomy, Film, and Crafts as well as Folk Arts are the seven areas of creativity, which are recognized by the network.
Together with the 180 member cities, the network tries to realize its objectives foster through investing in creativity at local level and cooperating at international one.
