South Korean University Hosts Shiraz Photo Exhibition
Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) in Seoul hosted a photo exhibition of Shiraz displaying photos of the various cultural and historical attractions of the city including the Shahcheragh Mausoleum, the Persepolis and the Eram Garden World Heritage sites.
Held on the occasion of Shiraz Week (9 to 15 May), the exhibition was on view from 2 through 8 May 2023.
Speaking at the opening ceremony held at the HUFS Library Hall of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Studies on 2 May 2023, Saeed Koozechi, the IR Iran Ambassador in South Korea provided the audience with general information on Shiraz and its cultural, historical and artistic background and expressed hope that the event “would open a new chapter for further communications and cooperation between the people of the two countries [interested and] involved and the spheres of science, culture, literature and arts”.
Mohammad Hassan Asadi Mayor of Shiraz also addressed the audience through a video message. Referring to the common historical and cultural links between the two nations, “which are heirs to the great ancient civilizations,” he expressed hope that these commonalities along with the friendship between the people of Iran and South Korea could be exploited to further develop and foster cooperation between the two sides.
