Mayor Sends Nowruz Greetings to Counterparts
Mayor Asadi sent a message to some of his counterparts in the Nowruz geographical Region including Dushanbe, Kazan, Kabul, Mazar Sharif, Lahore, etc., offering congratulations and best wishes to them and their fellow citizens.
Part of the message reads: “Let us exploit this invaluable common heritage of ours as an effective means for building new achievements and expanding horizons of mutual cooperation”.
Nowruz is Persian New Year celebrated by various ethnicities worldwide. It is a festival based on the Iranian Solar Hijri calendar, on the spring equinox on or around 21 March on the Gregorian calendar. Nowruz, which marks the first day of spring and the renewal of nature, was inscribed in 2009 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity as a cultural tradition observed by numerous peoples.
