Metropolis Expresses Solidarity with Shiraz Citizens
Jordi Vaquer, General Director of World Association of Major Metropolises (Metropolis) conveyed the solidarity and support of the Metropolis Community on the horrific terrorist attack on Shah Cheragh's Shrine.
Referring to “the horrific terrorist attack on Shah Cheragh’s Shrine,” he conveyed the solidarity and support of the whole Metropolis community with the people of the historic city of Shiraz.
He added: “For decades, commitment to peace and to dignified human life has brought together cities from around the world. The values of city diplomacy are the exact opposite of what your city experienced last Wednesday.”
Emphasizing that the whole Metropolis community is standing with Shiraz in “rejection and defiance of terrorism and violence,” the Metropolis Secretary General asserted that: “Cities will not yield to terror, and will stand united, shoulder to shoulder, against it.”
