Shiraz Female Child wins Mayors for Peace President's Award
The international organization of Mayors for Peace, based in Hiroshima Japan, to emphasize the peace education and make attempts to raise the awareness among the young generation has organized A Child Art Competition for the purpose of peace education promotion. The children, in two age ranges (6-10 and 11-15), submit their art works on peace, tolerance, peaceful towns to be reviewed.
In 2019, this annual cultural event themed “the Peaceful Town”. Based on the unanimous votes of the jury members, Kiana Bordbar, a 10-year old girl from Shiraz, has been awarded the first prize and the presidential one in 6-10-year-old category.
In this international art competition, 70 cities from 21 countries participated.
It is worth mentioning that Shiraz, as a city where peace and tolerance are the fundamental and well-known features, has been an active member of the Mayors for Peace since 2013.
