Vakil Metro Station Opened
Being located within the historical area of Shiraz, Vakil metro station, which has been influenced by Zandiyeh architecture was opened in August 27, 2020 in the presence of provincial officials.
Vakil metro station has been built in accordance with the Zandiyeh architectural style in an area of 15 Sq2 in four floors, while enjoying artistic abilities of Iranian architects. Concerning its historical architecture, it is one of the most outstanding metro stations in Iran.
In the opening ceremony, Eskandarpour, Shiraz Mayor, referred to the adherence of this project to the architectural style of historical and cultural context of Shiraz, and called Vakil metro station a cultural center where art galleries would be held on different occasions. He continued that in some occasions such as Nowruz when Shiraz receives many domestic tourists, this station could be a center for offering Shiraz’s cultural products.
Rahimi, the governor of Fars Province, also considered the implementation and completion of Vakil metro station in the hard situation of these days an effective infrastructural project and added “today, in different parts of Fars Province, big civil sites are actively operating in transportation domain the executing budget of which would worth billions of Iranian Rials.”
Shiraz as the Iranian capital city in Zandiyeh era has flourished culturally and architecturally.
