Nowruz a Platform to Boost Friendly Ties
Mayors of Weimar, Dresden and Kazan, in separate messages congratulated the mayor of Shiraz on the occasion of the Iranian New Year, Nowruz.
Peter Kleine, Lord Mayor of Weimar, the sister-city of Shiraz, having expressed hope for a continued dialogue between both cities, said “on behalf of the city of Weimar and all citizens of Weimar I would like to extend to you and the people of Shiraz all my best wishes for Nouruz and the New Year.”
Dirk Hilbert the Lord Mayor of Dresden, a friendship city of Shiraz emphasized his desire for peace. He wished the upcoming year would be a "prosperous one for you and your city and bring you success, good luck and health, as this is very important in these pandemic times.”
Ilsur Metshin, the mayor of Kazan referred to the ancient Nowruz and considered it “a symbol of the birth of new achievements and goals and an integral part of culture for many countries.” He continued “I wish you and all your citizens a fruitful year. Let every grain planted in the ground give generous harvest. Nawruz always fills with an optimism and determination to overcome all difficulties and obstacles. Let the most expensive and long-awaited gift be happiness and spiritual harmony.”
The Mayor of Shiraz, Seyed Ehsan Asnafi, in a video message, has already congratulated the people of capital cities and metropolises within the Nowruz geographical areas, some of Shiraz’s sister-and friendship cities as well as the Iranians worldwide on the occasion the ancient Nowruz.
